Welder joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Being a Welder inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment. Additionally, Welder may prepare the materials and set up for a welding device or robot. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Welder works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     What is a Welder?

    A Welder is a skilled professional responsible for joining and fabricating metal components by using various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate materials, and operating welding equipment to produce high-quality welds. Attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to safety are crucial traits for success in this role. The Welder must be proficient in ensuring the structural integrity of welded components while adhering to industry standards and project specifications. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential for success in this hands-on and dynamic position.


    In this role, you will:

    TIG weld per job instructions

    MIG weld / Robot work may be available

    Other duties as assigned

    Read Tape Measures clearly

    Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment


    To succeed in this role, you must:

    Accurately TIG weld

    Have good math ability and problem solving skills

    Read and interpret blueprints efficiently

    Have at least 1-2 years' experience with welding

    Have good written and oral communication skills
