Program: Amarillo, Texas - Jail Based Competency Restoration (JBCR)
Salary range: $62,545.60 - $68,744.00 Annually
Shift available: Full-time
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
- This position will work as the Jail Based Competency Restoration (JBCR) Program Team Lead
- In addition to the provision of some direct services, this position will assume the direct supervision of the team, contract compliance oversight, and liaison work with the other professionals working with justice involved individuals in Potter county
- Provision of services in support of competency restoration for people deemed incompetent in the Potter County Detention Center (PCDC). These services will primarily take place at the PCDC.
- Services are provided to adults who have been found incompetent to stand trial due to a serious mental illness and considered to be restorable to stand trial
- Work alongside of the mental health professionals within the PCDC and other law enforcement officials to reduce recidivism in the jail and promote treatment options
- Participate and provide trainings that are in support of competency restoration, mental health awareness and crisis intervention
- Flexible scheduling for service delivery and outreach will be utilized to allow best access to people to be served
- Act as part of a clinical team including, but not limited to, PCDC personnel, medical teams at TPC, all outpatient service providers in the community to coordinate treatment if released from jail
- Administratively supervise members on the team regarding scheduling, approving time sheets, coordinating services with data entry for reporting measures
- Ensure services provided support whole health care that is Person and Family Centered using evidenced based practices
- Assist in the development of curriculums for training and service provision within the program. Evaluate the data to drive these program decisions
- Standard assessments will be completed throughout the course of the persons' treatment in compliance with grant specifications
- Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
Required qualifications to be successful in the job:
- Master's degree from an accredited university with a major in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, or other related human services field for QMHP credentialing
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who qualify as a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA)
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner
- This position will require flexible work schedules to accommodate for the needs of participants in the program
