Wheelwright KY 41669 USADescriptionThe Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 12 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.
The Justice Program Administrator at the Southeast State Correctional Complex (SSCC) is responsible for the oversight of the Therapeutic Community Substance Abuse Program within the Institution.
Key Responsibilities may include:- Develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures relative to the substance abuse treatment program for the institution.
- Requests, collects, edits and analyzes data to help write program status reports.
- Manages program budget.
- Supervises and assigns work of staff.
- Prepares pre-parole evaluations of offenders.
- Assists in recruitment of staff.
- Coordinates training.
- Acts as department liaison to other entities in the mental health field.
Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional experience in corrections, juvenile justice, criminal justice, law enforcement, recreation, academic or vocational education, health services or education, dietary or food management, construction project management, social work, or a related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in corrections, juvenile justice, criminal justice, law enforcement, recreation, academic or vocational education, health services or education, dietary or food management, construction project management, social work, or related field will substitute for the education on a year for year basis.
