Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Program Administrator for Engaged Pluralism will support the Director of Engaged Pluralism in developing and implementing programming for the newly created consortium of Engaged Pluralism projects, working groups and Directors at the College.

Engaged Pluralism at Vassar emerged at the 2022 conclusion of the Mellon Foundation funded Engaged Pluralism Initiative (EPI). EPI shifted the College's practices toward building cross-campus communities that emphasize belonging. Moving forward, Engaged Pluralism will carry this legacy in its efforts to create collaborative efforts in which students, faculty, administrators, and staff actively engage across differences.

Reporting to the Director of Engaged Pluralism, the Program Administrator will work with and support the Director to provide creative energy, ingenuity, and structure to the projects and practices of engaged pluralism on campus. In these efforts, the Program Administrator will work within a supportive environment of administrators, faculty, and student leaders. In addition, the Program Administrator will coordinate and manage improvements to the EP website, newsletter, and social media communications.

Responsibilities:

• Partner, support and assist the Director of Engaged Pluralism in developing and implementing EP programing.
• Support the execution of all EP related events (including scheduling, arranging logistics, event support).
• Participate in the Leadership Team of EP.
• Manage overall communications of EP, including website, newsletter, social media, print and promotional materials.
• Manage program budgets, reports, procurement card expenses and reports, online databases and files for select EP-related programs.
• Help supervise EP Student Interns.
• Provide support for Working Group recruitment, retention, and facilitation.
• Provide support for Igniter Pitch projects.
• Support for Summer Immersions program including planning, implementation, and evaluation; and additional support for Dean of College summer programming.
• Help maintain an up-to-date calendar of events and deadlines.
• Other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in relevant field required. Masters degree preferred.
• Two to five years leadership experience in college student development, higher education management or related field, including working with historically underrepresented groups.
• Outstanding organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks successfully.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative and realize projects and goals with minimal supervision.
• Experience planning, facilitating, and managing projects and events.
• Experience with group facilitation.
• Ability to interact with, and act as a liaison between, members of the Vassar community who occupy different roles in the college, including students, faculty, staff, and administrators at various levels of the organization.
• Ability to affirm, advocate for and relate to students from a diversity of cultural backgrounds, using a high degree of judgment and confidentiality.
• Strong cultural sensitivity.
• Willingness to continue education and training on various equity topics.
• Demonstrated experience leading groups, workshops, and facilitating students, faculty, and staff on topics such as cultural competency, equity, inclusion and belonging.
• Demonstrated competency with social media and content delivery.
