Job Title: Summer STEAM Healthcare and Wellness Program Lead
(2 positions – 1 at each site)
Job Description: This position will provide health support to students and help design and implement wellness activities for the Summer STEAM program. Duties include general first aid, helping to make decisions regarding student illness, making phone calls to parents, maintaining knowledge of health plans for each student, being responsible for student medication, and other duties as assigned. This position will review all student health conditions at the beginning of the program and notify the proper program staff of any allergies or accommodations that they should be aware of. Prior to any field trips, this position will review rosters and ensure that the chaperones attending have any training and materials needed. This position will also play a role in our attendance plan by verifying that all teachers have submitted attendance each morning through Infinite Campus, and then will report the daily student numbers and any allergies to food service.
Summer STEAM will run from June 17 through August 1, 2024, Monday - Thursday. On June 19th and July 4th, there will be no Summer STEAM. There will be some required training dates for staff during the week of June 10, which will be communicated to all hired staff once details are finalized. This position will report to Jefferson Elementary (grades 1-4) or Faribault High School (grades 5-8) from 7:30am-3pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. The rate of pay for this position is $29.40/hour. Applicants who are available for the entirety of the program will be considered first.
Qualifications: Experience as a school nurse preferred, trained in first aid and CPR.
