Wellness Program Manager designs and implements wellness and work-life programs and policies to build a positive and appealing company culture that will enhance employee engagement, facilitate recruiting, and support productivity improvements. Partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings, and information resources. Being a Wellness Program Manager develops and implements work-life programs to provide employees with flexible work arrangements, financial planning, family/child care resources, transportation, memberships, discounts, and educational opportunities. Collects and analyzes information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or feedback sessions. Additionally, Wellness Program Manager may manage on-site fitness facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Wellness Program Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Wellness Program Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Summary:

    Responsible for coordination of the Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP) program through an integrated team system with local and state agencies, to increase the overall health of Macon County residents. Will provide supervision to HOP specialists and case management to Medicaid eligible participants. 

    Macon Program for Progress' Expectations of All Employees:

    Projects a positive and respectful attitude that positive represents MPP within the community at large, and maintains a professional and respectful attitude when interacting with employees, clients, and the public. Serves as a role model for employees, clients, and community partners. 

    Facilitates open communication with employees, clients, and community partners. Attends and participates in meetings, workgroups, team meetings, committees, workshops, individual training, and training conferences and seminars when assigned. 

    Obtains a working knowledge of and complies with all MPP policies and procedures, including but not limited to, Personnel Policies and Procedures and service plans and related policy and procedures.

    Possesses a working knowledge of confidently and adheres to MPP confidentiality policies. Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of all families, children, and employees at all times. 

    Reports Child Abuse per MPP policy and procedure.

    Reports to work at scheduled times and maintains acceptable attendance records as outline in Program Personnel Policies and Procedures.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Conducts various job responsibilities, as instructed through the Community Services Director and Impact Health.
    • Supervises and works with the HOP Specialist to ensure data entry, billing, invoicing, and other job elements are completed and reported timely. 
    • Maintains staff by selecting, coaching, and training employees when needed.
    • Provides case management for Medicaid-eligible participants and works with them to receive needed services and resource referrals. 
    • Works with participants and agency staff to ensure that the HOP program is meeting its annual outcomes and outputs in a timely fashion.
    • Examines and updates participant files at least every six months to review individual progress or changing situations.
    • Promotes the program through advertising and publicizing the availability og services and resources.
    • Coordinates and oversees the compilations of annual reporting for the HOP program.
    • Ensures program aspects performed to established program standards. Ensures continuous improvement toward program goals for required and desired outcomes to be achieved.
    • Attends agency meetings, trainings, or conferences as required.


    Education and/or Experience/ Skills and Abilities:

    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • A valid driver's license is required.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
    • Ability to listen and comprehend others needs and goals, either in person or on the phone.
    • Excellent communication skills, including speaking and writing. 
    • Ability to reason and trouble shoot many life skill situations.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, to feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required tos it. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 

    Employment Conditional upon the Results of the Following:

    • Criminal Background Check to include: Federal and State Fingerprint Database, Sex Offender Registry, NC Administrative Office of the Courts, Responsible Individuals List, and Child Maltreatment Registry.
