Pay Range: $15.00- $20.00 per hour

The One Hopewell Team is seeking a professional with experience in community development, public health, crisis support and grass-root engagement. The OneHopewell Program Manager will work to expand access to equity and opportunity within the City of Hopewell. Specifically, this position will assist with the implementation of the OneHopewell Community Public Health Initiative. The Program Manager will contribute to the development of policies, systems, and partnerships to address health disparities within the City of Hopewell. As a result of Covid-19, a significant aspect of the One Hopewell’s initiative addresses social determinates of health by tackling social and economic factors within the City. Therefore, the Program Manger will work a hybrid schedule with some remote, field and office hours. This position will serve as the “face” of the OneHopewell’s Initiative and be responsible for managing resources, creating sustainability of programs and developing community/strategic relationships.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in public health education, urban planning, public administration or social work
Professional and empathetic interpersonal skills to assist culturally diverse individuals during times of distress
Grant writing and/or budget management experience
Project management
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and sound judgement
Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills
Knowledge and understanding of equity, local/state government operations
Knowledge of cultural sensitivity, and universally defined social/economic factors
Survey, reporting and data management
Community engagement and team-building experience
Administrative support of committees
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Identify the needs of residents within the community using innovative techniques to foster engagement and oversee
2. Develop and oversee Neighborhood Councils
3. Identify resources, services and/or organizations to expand offerings to accomplish OneHopewell goals
4. Track, update and aid in the implementation of the OneHopewell Strategic Plan
5. Utilize public health education resources to inform the community about safety measures, preventative services, community health and services
6. Serve as the primary administrative staff for the OneHopewell Team and administrative support for One Hopewell subcommittees
7. Develop a finance plan and solicit funding streams to continue long-term programmatic efforts
8. Attend community meetings and events, as requested, on behalf of the OneHopewell organization
9. Manage social media and online systems for community outreach, data management and record keeping
10. Use established data confidentiality procedures for protection of personally identifiable information
11. Develop familiarity with the City of Hopewell geography, data sources and health systems available to assist those impacted by COVID-19
12. Maintain daily communication with One Hopewell designees
13. Manage OneHopewell grant funding and finances
14. Manage the OneHopewell Community Services Building
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
4-year college degree or a combination of relevant work and educational experience
Bilingual candidates strongly preferred
Familiarity or experience working with social services or public health education in Virginia
