Wellness Program Manager designs and implements wellness and work-life programs and policies to build a positive and appealing company culture that will enhance employee engagement, facilitate recruiting, and support productivity improvements. Partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings, and information resources. Being a Wellness Program Manager develops and implements work-life programs to provide employees with flexible work arrangements, financial planning, family/child care resources, transportation, memberships, discounts, and educational opportunities. Collects and analyzes information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or feedback sessions. Additionally, Wellness Program Manager may manage on-site fitness facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Wellness Program Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Wellness Program Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Description Summary
    The position is responsible for planning, designing and implementing a wellness initiative for students, staff and faculty associated with the Fox leadership, PORES, and Fels programs, along with its affiliates. The position will focus on fitness, nutrition, physical health and overall well-being.

    Job Description

    The Robert A. Fox Leadership Program is one of the most successful student-serving programs anywhere in the country. Fox's core mission is to equip and empower Penn students and alumni for present and future roles as ethical and effective leaders. The program focuses on hands-on leadership experience and connects students with successful leaders for discussion and mentorship.

    Event Management: Manage, plan and design wellness activities and workshops for students, staff and faculty in Fox, PORES and Fels. Develop a strategic events calendar that is aligned to goals. Provide logistical and staffing leadership for events. Work closely with the Director of Recreational Programs to cosponsor events with Penn Athletics and Recreation as well as other programs and centers at Penn.

    Student Advising and Engagement: Directly connect on-on-one with students and staff to encourage physical activity and provide guidance on ways to lead a healthy lifestyle. Including but not limited to life coaching, time management, personal training, and independent consultations. Serve as primary liaison for Fox wellness initiative and overall Fox, PORES and Fels student community. Facilitate student groups and extracurricular opportunities to improve the student experience.

    Marketing and Communications Management and Development: Manage initiative outreach and triage program inquiries. Develop educational presentations and student programs. Direct electronic communications, such as even advertisements and announcements. Lead wellness initiative across Fels, Fox and PORES.

    Recruitment : Plan and execute seminars, personal training workshops, and assessments that engage students to promote balanced and healthy lifestyles. Transform student lifestyles and awareness of healthy and balanced lifestyles. Provide professional customer service and respond to inquiries via phone, walk-ins and email.

    Monitor Program Effectiveness and Evaluation: Continuously evaluate whether initiative is improving the student experience and make adjustments to programming and advising as needed.

    Special Projects : Lead special projects aligned with initiative goals, including working with other programs to motivate students to engage in physical activity for overall health and wellness.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    A Bachelor's degree in health education or Kinesiology and 2 to 3 years of experience in exercise and wellness science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Knowledge of a broad range of wellness and fitness topics and a commitment to wellness.

    Keep professionally current in health, wellness and fitness research.

    Ability to integrate wellness/fitness program initiatives into culture and organization mission.
