Wellness Program Manager designs and implements wellness and work-life programs and policies to build a positive and appealing company culture that will enhance employee engagement, facilitate recruiting, and support productivity improvements. Partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings, and information resources. Being a Wellness Program Manager develops and implements work-life programs to provide employees with flexible work arrangements, financial planning, family/child care resources, transportation, memberships, discounts, and educational opportunities. Collects and analyzes information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or feedback sessions. Additionally, Wellness Program Manager may manage on-site fitness facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Wellness Program Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Wellness Program Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     PAY RATE: $55k-60k annually 


    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Wellness Program (WP) Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include a blend of administrative and direct service duties to support the Wellness Program and Project Open Hand’s mission. The WP Coordinator will supervise the day to day duties of the Wellness Program staff, process eligibility for services, manage program contracts, offer case management, and support the Manager, Wellness Program (MWP) as needed to ensure contractual and organizational goals are being met.


    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    •Three years’ experience providing direct services in Social Service environment, specifically to clients with multiple diagnoses (i.e. substance abuse, mental illness, critical illness)

    •Proficient in MS Office, using databases, and internet research

    •Flexible schedule with the ability to work in POH’s Oakland office as needed


    QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

    •Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service field

    •Experience working in a nonprofit client services-based setting

    •Mental Health or Social Work Experience

    •Experience supervising staff

    •Bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, Tagalog, or Vietnamese


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    •Responsible for day-to-day oversight of the Wellness Program, including daily supervision of staff and volunteers and program operations

    •Oversee training and daily supervision of Wellness Program staff and volunteers

    •Assist the MWP with interviewing and screening of new staff

    •Assist the MWP in employee evaluation process

    •Help to monitor and resolve client and staff incidents, includes: reporting necessary information to the MWP, gathering information, facilitating staff discussion regarding intervention, ensuring adequate documentation, writing correspondence, and notifying staff of intervention and resolution

    •Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in weekly case management staff meetings

    •Help establish and maintain policies and procedures for the Wellness Program department, including tracking decisions affecting procedure changes and writing/updating policy and procedure manual

    •Provide oversight to assigned contracts, including but not limited to: maintaining knowledge on contract goals, staying updated on contract changes, tracking progress toward meeting contract deliverables, helping troubleshoot barriers in meeting contract goals, providing MWP with data for invoices, monitoring visits, and delegating tasks to staff and volunteers as appropriate

    •Utilize a client centered, harm reduction model to provide case management to clients that includes but is not limited to: maintaining client caseload as assigned, conducting intake interviews for new and returning clients, assessing and verifying program eligibility, enrollment and assessment of client needs, tracking client adherence, supporting with adherence to POH services, facilitating and follow up on referrals

    •Ensure proper staffing coverage for assigned contract and department needs

    •Assist MWP in representing the Wellness Program department externally and internally at community or partner meetings

    •Develop and maintain relationships with referring partners

    •Able and available to make decisions and answer questions in the absence of the MWP

    •Caseworker duties as needed

    •Other duties as assigned
