Capital Precast has openings for a Machine Operator - Wire Roller at our San Marcos facility. As part of the Capital Precast team, you will place reinforcement cages on the pallets, operate and monitor machine controls and alarms, and have the ability to react and correct alarm situations. Essential Functions:

• Roll wire mesh for reinforced concrete manholes and pipe manufacturing using a cage wire-rolling machine.
• Attention to detail – must be able to read and interpret production shop drawings.
• Ensure wire-rolling machine is kept clean and well maintained at all times.
• Good math skills - must be able to use a tape measure.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting the wire machine as needed.
• General understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Able to use or learn how to tack weld and use a torch.
• Able to learn how to operate a forklift and overhead cranes.
• Work closely with Plant Supervisor to ensure that all wire cages are produced according to production schedule.

Work Environment:

• Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures.
• Work near moving machinery and equipment - may include electrical hazards.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Work in a noisy environment.
• Work Location: In-Person / On-site

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday (daytime only)
• 10–12 hour shifts
• Overtime available
• Some weekends as needed
• Holidays

Pay:

• $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
