Description
This position is responsible for ensuring all shipments and receipts are marked, labeled, loaded, unloaded, and stored correctly in accordance with the facilities Radioactive Materials License and RCRA permit, as applicable. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Review all incoming customer shipment information to ensure markings and labels are applied correctly for storage at PFNW.
· Scan all containers and container movements into the Waste Tracking Database.
· Assist with loading/unloading of incoming/outgoing shipments including use of all facility forklifts and vehicles (tractor/trailer).
· Perform routine audits of the storage areas to ensure tracking information, markings, and labels are accurate; perform corrections as needed.
· Stage waste for process.
· Mark and label completed process containers and store correctly.
· Maintain housekeeping in all storage yards and storage buildings.
· Attend safety meetings and training, as required.
· Radiological safety training: 24hr Hazardous Materials Training required.
· Support other departments when needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Preferred minimum one year of experience in the operation of industrial transport equipment or equivalent, such as forklifts, tractor trucks, trailers, etc.
· Proficiency with various computer programs including MS Excel and Word.
· Ability to be self-motivated and effectively communicate in a clear and accurate manner, both verbally and written.
Primarily working in an industrial-type work environment where hot and cold conditions could apply. Working outside in all weather conditions while performing work. Facility/field work includes the potential for exposure to radiation, noise, dust, hot and cold temperatures and chemicals.
