Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Spearman ISD is in search of a Director of Athletics for the 2024-2025 school year. The position will pay an additional $3,000 for Master degree. District pays $400 per month towards applicant's health insurance. This position is a 12 month position with a negotiated salary.
Campus Description:
Spearman High School is a class 2A school district with approximately 197 students on the campus (Grades 9-12) and 158 students on the junior high campus (Grades 6-8). The district does have a coaching team of 10 staff members.
Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage the overall program of extracurricular athletics for the district. Provide each student with the opportunity to participate in an extracurricular athletic activity and ensure compliance with all federal, state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and local requirements
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
Bachelor's degree
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of overall operations of an athletic program
Knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
Knowledge of federal, state and UIL policies governing athletics
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Excellent public relations, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents and staff
Experience:
5 years successful teaching and coaching experience
