Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Summary:
    Selects, recruits, and monitors student-athletes for their respective sport. Promotes sportsmanship, team play, and a commitment to academics while directing their team. Follows the rules and guidelines in accordance with the NJCAA and MCCAA.

    Essential Functions:
    • Evaluates pre-season equipment and uniform needs
    • Recruits prospective student athletes
    • Schedules non-conference games with the approval of the Athletic Director
    • Supervises Assistant and student athletes
    • Monitors study tables, reviews academic progress reports, fosters sportsmanship
    • Manages equipment and the proper use of equipment
    • Completes year-end inventory of all equipment, supplies, and uniforms
    • Coordination of practices and trips
    • Abides by all standards, rules, and regulations of the NJCAA and MCCAA
    • Enters correct statistics into the NJCAA in a timely manner and follows all deadlines
    • Ensures Athletic Department knows of all ejections or any reprimands that occur at any/all events
    • Conforms to the administrative policies of the College and the Athletic Department
    • Aids in the setting up and field/court preparation of home events
    • Ensures all assistants, student athletes, and managers foster a positive image for the College and Athletic Department
    • Keeps a positive relationship with all media outlets and submits scores to appropriate outlets after games
    • Ensures scores are given to the Athletic Department within an hour after the game along with a blurb to enable the staff to update the website.
    • Writes articles and updates social media pages to promote sport and college.


    Other Duties:

    • Other duties as assigned.


    Accountabilities:

    Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, performs all coaching duties outlined.

    Job Specifications:
    Associates degree required in appropriate area of specialization and 4-5 years professional experience.

    Grade:
    Salary Range: $10,000/contract year

    Part time staff are not employed directly by Lake Michigan College with a few exceptions based on MSPERS retirement program. All others are employed thru EDUStaff, LLC.
