Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. 40 hours per week. Every other weekend required, some holidays. Duties include: Provide long and short term counseling to adult and child victim/survivors of sexual violence, staff crisis hotline, participate in agency on-call system, provide information and referrals and appropriate personal supplies, manage weekly sexual violence focused and structured support group, assess resident needs through regular supportive interactions, Conduct individual counseling, maintain safe shelter environment, admit and orient residents to shelter including distribution and review of shelter packet and completion of exit forms, and ensure general housekeeping of the Shelter.
Qualifications: One of the following: BS in Social Welfare, Psychology, Social Services, or related field. Associate Degree related field plus two years of relevant experience or four years’ experience in a related field. Strong counseling skills, ability to communicate effectively with individuals and in a group setting. Flexibility and strong organizational skills. Must have a valid Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check, and FBI Criminal Background Check. A valid PA driver license. Successful completion of The Women’s Center of Columbia/Montour, Inc. counseling/advocacy training.
