Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • Bargaining Unit/Salary Level: This is a full-time, in-person, salaried position on campus in Wells, Maine. The salary for this position is commensurate with the Agreement between the MCCS Trustees and the MEA Administrators Unit and is pending classification. Full benefits package available.


    SUMMARY

    York County Community College (YCCC), a dynamic institution with a proud 30-year history of transforming lives and communities throughout York County and Maine, is seeking an exceptional leader to join our executive team as the Director of Athletics and Student Engagement. This position cultivates a sense of community and provides opportunities for student engagement, growth, and development in support of YCCC’s vision and mission. This position exists to provide direction and administration of all facets of student engagement. The Director of Athletics and Student Engagement provides oversight of Student Life, Athletics, and Esports.. As it relates to Student Life, this position supervises and cooridnates student engagement programming on campus. In the area of athletics and esports programs, this position oversees risk management, budgeting, hiring, planning, monitoring, development, and staffing.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Serve as the primary point person for Student Life including engagement opportunities for students. This position will plan activities and events, provide leadership opportunities, oversee the Student Senate, as well as implement community services initiatives.

    Serve as Athletic Director, including risk management, budgeting, hiring, planning, monitoring, development, scheduling, as well as supervision of coaches and workstudy students.


    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE POSITION


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree


    Desired Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in related field (Student Development, Sports Management, Educational Leadership, etc.)


    Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning, student activities, athletics, housing, or leadership development
    • Experience in the USCAA
    • Strong organizational and management skills
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
    • Initiative
    • Computer literacy
    • The ability to work independently and as a member of a team
    • Availability to work evening and weekend hours.
    • A valid driver’s license and qualifications to be approved as a driver of college vehicles
