Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Description

    The AssistanceAthletic Director reports to the Director of Athletics. The Director of Athletics will provide general direction but the Assistant Director position is expected to perform many responsibilities independently.

    Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director will assist the Director of Athletics in day-to-day functions of the overall operation of the Department of Athletics. These functions vary and include, but are not limited to game management, fundraising, donor relations, ticket sales, team and personnel oversight and support, budget oversight, ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations, coordinating schedules, securing and/or approving travel, and representing the department on committees and at competitions and events.Joint supervision of athletic teams and coaches.Secondarily responsible for supervising the Athletic Department staff.

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s Degree*Master’s degree preferred.
    • Two years’ experience in an intercollegiate athletic department in an administrative role or commensurate experience in intercollegiate coaching, NCAA compliance, fundraising and facilities management. Division I or II experience preferred.
    • Maintain both NCAA and University policies and procedures in assigned compliance area / inventory, reviewing, revising and updating annually and issuing new as regulations and requirements dictate; ensure mandated requirements are met and documentation is maintained per policies and procedures; ensure assigned personnel are fully trained, qualified and certified to perform assigned compliance responsibilities.
    • Required to have a valid driver’s license; NCAA Rules Compliance Certification; NCAA Division II compliance rules and guidelines knowledge; and FERPA knowledge.
    • Supports faculty, students and the institution in the mission to provide or receive an education.
