Work/Life Program Manager designs and implements wellness and work-life programs and policies to build a positive and appealing company culture that will enhance employee engagement, facilitate recruiting, and support productivity improvements. Partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings, and information resources. Being a Work/Life Program Manager develops and implements work-life programs to provide employees with flexible work arrangements, financial planning, family/child care resources, transportation, memberships, discounts, and educational opportunities. Collects and analyzes information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or feedback sessions. Additionally, Work/Life Program Manager may manage on-site fitness facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a senior management. The Work/Life Program Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Work/Life Program Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • Job Summary: This position helps to develop, maintain and implement individualized programs for students with Autism, or other Developmental Disabilities, ages 3 – 22. This position also trains and supervises instructional assistants for student caseloads according to Valley Achievement Center policies and procedures. Program Managers are responsible for development of students Individual Program Plans (IPP) to ensure that the goals and objectives are properly carried out according to VAC's educational methods, policies, techniques and standards. In addition, Program Managers are responsible for training and supervising Instructional Assistants and providing staff performance feedback.

    Job Requirements:

    • Ensure student and employee safety at all times.
    • Develop, maintain and implement Individualized Program Plans (IPP) for students with various functional/cognitive levels on the Autism spectrum, and with other developmental disabilities.
    • Provide Instructional Assistants feedback on assigned caseloads to ensure fidelity to program goals.
    • Plan, organize and prioritize program related materials; completes all required work assignments according to established deadlines. Prepare Quarterly Progress Reports related to students' programs.
    • Maintain a professional and objective relationship with students, parents, VAC vendors, supervisors and other employees.
    • Protect and uphold student confidentiality at all times.
    • Complete performance evaluations on Instructional Assistants.
    • Preparing monthly progress reports on the student’s performance and indicating areas of improvement to Program Facilitator as needed/requested.
    • Conduct clinical meetings as needed with instructional assistants to discuss specific information regarding employees, students, instructional methods, behavior plans, policies, etc.
    • Attends, and actively participates in, all required employee meetings/trainings, including presenting goals and progress at IPP Meetings.
    • Conduct scheduled evaluations, performance observations and manage IA’s in collaboration with Program Facilitator.
    • Ensure implementation of VAC techniques and approved methods of intervention for student behavior(s) by the Instructional Assistants.
    • Obtain and analyze data pertaining to student’s IPP goals.
    • Work with a variety of students within the Autism Spectrum or with other Developmental Disabilities.
    • Maintain organization of student work area, classroom area, common areas, including securing the building at the close of business hours.
    • Ability to exercise appropriate behavior management techniques when necessary.
    • Follow appropriate chain of command when faced with concerns related to students, parents, VAC vendors, supervisors and other employees.
    • Reviews, edits and approves Instructional Assistants time cards bi-weekly, in accordance with payroll guidelines.
    • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and personal accountability; looks for ways to improve or promote program quality.
    • Adheres to all VAC policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
    • Actively participate in community-based instruction throughout the year, and actively participate in water activities (changing into appropriate swim attire is required, as outlined the VAC Dress Code).

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications:

    • 1-year experience at VAC or similar school setting, or licensed child care center.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Behavior Modification and Applied Behavior Analysis techniques.
    • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with students, parents, VAC vendors, supervisors and other employees.
    • Ability to work as a team, actively participate and collaborate with other team members.
    • Knowledge of crisis management techniques required.
    • Ability to maintain composure, remains objective, demonstrate sound judgment and react effectively in challenging situations.
    • Must possess the following competencies: analytical, problem solving, delegation.
    • Prior experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities required.
    • Flexible and adaptable to program and organizational changes.
    • Exhibits a positive, solution oriented and motivating demeanor at all times.
    • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
    • Proficient in computer applications including all Microsoft Office programs.

    Educational Requirements:

    • Minimum AA (or equivalent) in psychology, child development or related field preferred; or equivalent experience and/or combined education.
    • Minimum of 6 child development semester units (or equivalent), with continuing coursework to complete 12 units within the first year. Examples include: courses covering child growth and development, child family community and program curriculum. Official transcripts will be required when applying (Social Skills, Preschool, and Intermediate Afterschool only).

    Physical Requirements:

    • Lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs. with assistance.
    • Frequent squatting, sitting, walking, standing, bending and twisting, kneeling, crawling, climbing.
    • Simple grasping with both hands and fine manipulation with both hands.
    • Occasional running, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below shoulder level.
    • Regular exposure to excessive noise levels.
    • Walking and running on uneven surfaces.
    • Regular exposure to outside elements, including excessive heat, direct sunlight, cold, wind or rain.

    Certificates:

    • Pediatric CPR/1st Aid card required or must be obtained within 3 months of employment and kept current throughout duration of employment.
    • Completion of QBS Safety Care training.
    • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or must be obtained within 6 months.'
