Work/Life Program Manager designs and implements wellness and work-life programs and policies to build a positive and appealing company culture that will enhance employee engagement, facilitate recruiting, and support productivity improvements. Partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings, and information resources. Being a Work/Life Program Manager develops and implements work-life programs to provide employees with flexible work arrangements, financial planning, family/child care resources, transportation, memberships, discounts, and educational opportunities. Collects and analyzes information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or feedback sessions. Additionally, Work/Life Program Manager may manage on-site fitness facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a senior management. The Work/Life Program Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Work/Life Program Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Artists ReEnvisioning Tomorrow Inc “ART Inc”, founded in 2018 by Jonathon and Nikki Romain, is Peoria’s foremost arts-in-education non-profit organization. ART Inc provides arts education opportunities to nearly 500 students and teaching artist each year. The staff, board, volunteers, and teaching artists of ART Inc work tirelessly to generate programs for all students to imagine, create, and realize their full potential through the arts, regardless of their ability to pay.


    Job Description

    The Program Manager is responsible for the leadership and daily operational success of the ART Inc programs. This person will oversee the Arts Science & Leadership Academy: afterschool, family and me, summer camp, and all other programs inside of The Romain Arts & Culture Center. This job occasionally requires travel by automobile for event support.


    Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to recruiting, training, managing and evaluating a team of teaching artists, volunteers, interns (high school and college) and executing the program’s curriculum and design in a proficient manner in order to meet contractual and grant obligations while maintaining a safe and healthy environment in accordance with various regulations.  Additionally, the Program Manager is responsible for the program development and managing relations with schools and program partners.

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, if not meticulous, and should be a self-starter and have excellent communication and customer service skills. This individual must be able to effectively manage a portfolio of recurring daily tasks, annual projects, and last-minute assignments. A Bachelor’s Degree or 2-5 years work experience is required. Experience with data entry and Microsoft Excel is required.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee program services operations.
    • Ensure effective orientation, training, and evaluation of program staff and program service volunteers as assigned. 
    • Collaborate with the Program Director to identify plan, develop, implement and evaluate program development initiatives.
    • Provide monthly updates/reports, identify program development/evaluation needs, receive support for the direction of ART Inc’s program initiatives and program evaluation results.
    • Ensure accurate statistical data collection and reporting to measure and evaluate results and to meet funding requirements.
    • Oversee and facilitate crisis management.
    • Ensure accuracy of and audit client records to ensure practice standards and funding accountability.
    • Assist Directors in marketing strategies to educate the community about ART Inc programs and mission
    • Build and implement a parent engagement plan to involve parents in program, agency, and advocacy events
    • Perform administrative duties such as participants’ daily attendance record, meal orders, timesheets, and complete participant’s files. Recruitment & Outreach
    • Develop an outreach strategy to ensure that all youth programs operate at full capacity
    • Collect and manage data on outreach activities to track effectiveness; prepare reports with analysis of outcomes.
    • Evaluate program goals and objectives to identify issues and develop corrective action plans, as needed.
    • Develop clear concepts and plans for new programs.
    • Participate in staff meetings and facilitate program staff meetings as needed.
    • Participate in ART Inc fundraising events.
    • Some evening and weekend work, as needed
    • Support and maintain the policies and philosophies of ART Inc
    • Other duties as assigned by the Directors.

    • Attention to detail necessary including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative
    • Valid Illinois Driver’s License
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
    • Demonstrated ability to motivate, encourage people, and work as a team
    • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office 365, Outlook and One Drive
    • Ability to be flexible and pivot quickly in a rapidly growing small nonprofit. 
    • Personal qualities of integrity, leadership, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the mission of ART Inc.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
    • Strong problem-solving and creative resolution skills

    Supervisor Relationship:

    The person designated to provide supervision of the Program Manager and from whom the Program Manager takes direction in all matters relating to carrying out the duties and responsibilities described in this position description is the Program Director.

     

    Work Environment:

    This position is on-site, meaning that work generally operates within an office environment and involves interaction with drop-in guests, volunteers, and other staff. This role routinely uses standard office systems such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. In instances of inclement weather or required quarantine, this position could possibly work remotely.

    Mental and Physical Requirements:

    Physical effort is light, with lifting or carrying limited to 25 pounds intermittently as well as walking up and down stairs. Work will include giving tours (3 flights of stairs) and making presentations in front of groups. Occasionally, there is pressure associated with project or activity deadlines. Work will require extended use of a computer keyboard and monitor.
