Workers Compensation Administrator II administers the workers' compensation program for an organization. Implements a consistent process for recording, investigating, and reporting workers' compensation claims complying with laws and regulations. Being a Workers Compensation Administrator II prepares and submits required reporting and documentation to OSHA, state and local agencies, and other entities. Monitors all claims and liaises with the employees, managers, insurance representatives, union representatives, medical staff, and attorneys involved with a case. Additionally, Workers Compensation Administrator II communicates case status details and necessary information to involved parties, including notifications of hearings, outcomes, return to work, or restrictions. Performs periodic reviews of overall cases to identify trends. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all regulations and laws for reporting workers' compensation. May coordinate or assist with safety programs focused on injury prevention or facilitate accommodations for workers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager.     SUMMARY

    Provide occupational medical services, records support, and workers’ compensation coverage and benefits to specified Hanford contractor employees in accordance with the Washington Industrial Insurance Act, as codified in the Revised Code of Washington, Title 51, and all other applicable laws and regulations.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide technical support to assist in monitoring performance, ensuring compliance with program and project requirements and case management, including:
      • Tracking caseload schedules, correspondence, and contractor requests.
      • Assisting with monitoring and analyzing performance using performance management principles to ensure resources are being utilized effectively.
      • Supporting Federal staff in preparing for program and project reviews and creating presentations.
      • Maintaining performance data files.
      • Assisting with reviews of invoices and other contractor packages.
      • Presenting recommendations and solutions to program or project issues.
      • Assisting with integrated budget request and lifecycle planning.
    • Provide administrative business support to include:
      • Tracking correspondence and action items from program and project meetings.
      • Reviewing and preparing responses to correspondence to ensure they are appropriate and consistent with DOE policy.
      • Coordinating subject matter expert (SME) input, analyses, and evaluation in all aspects program activities.
      • Providing assistance in the development of project and program documents including research information, review and comment, and comment resolution.
      • Performing analyses, research, and providing technical writing support in preparation of technical documents and white papers.
      • Assisting with development and analysis of business processes, and development of tools and systems to support identification and prioritization of current and emerging work.
      • Assisting with development of presentation materials, including briefings, white papers, position papers, research documentation, and assessment reports.
      • Organizing, tracking, and facilitating logistics to support internal and external meetings, workshops, training and schedules, and promote ongoing coordination with other contractors.
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to focus; occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 30 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. May be assigned occasional to moderate periods of analytical tasks requiring extensive reasoning abilities.     WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting, including the normal office equipment (e.g., computer, fax machines, copier) and with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.


    WORK SCHEDULE

    Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.




    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, in relevant area of study.
    • 5 years of relevant experience (business management, workers’ compensation or case management experience preferred).
    • Knowledge of Hanford mission site mission, activities and priorities, preferred.
    • Confidential data and information management experience required.

    SPECIAL SKILLS

    • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and other automation tools.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks successfully.
    • Ability to interact with diverse parties with multiple, potentially conflicting interests.
    • Ability to maintain administrative systems (experience developing preferred).
    • Ability to correctly and concisely capture complex ideas in writing.
    • Ability to work with and maintain complex records.
    • Ability to organize, maintain, update, and report action lists.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
    • Knowledge of Federal and agency regulations.
    • Knowledge of Federal record keeping.
    • Knowledge of Washington State Workers’ Compensation laws, regulations and practices.
    • Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.
