Workers Compensation Administrator II administers the workers' compensation program for an organization. Implements a consistent process for recording, investigating, and reporting workers' compensation claims complying with laws and regulations. Being a Workers Compensation Administrator II prepares and submits required reporting and documentation to OSHA, state and local agencies, and other entities. Monitors all claims and liaises with the employees, managers, insurance representatives, union representatives, medical staff, and attorneys involved with a case. Additionally, Workers Compensation Administrator II communicates case status details and necessary information to involved parties, including notifications of hearings, outcomes, return to work, or restrictions. Performs periodic reviews of overall cases to identify trends. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all regulations and laws for reporting workers' compensation. May coordinate or assist with safety programs focused on injury prevention or facilitate accommodations for workers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager.     Our Claims department is currently seeking a Senior Workers Compensation Adjuster with California designation to join our team in Roseville, CA. This is a full time, non-exempt role with a hybrid or remote work schedule.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:
    Responsible for the investigation, negotiation and resolution of claims in accordance with policy provisions, best practices and jurisdictional requirements. This includes the input of claim data and guiding insureds and claimants through the claim process and options.

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
    • Must have or secure and maintain California adjuster license and continuing education credits
    • Work within significant limits and authority on assignments of higher technical complexity and coordination
    • Use discretion and independent judgment in claim handling
    • Possess demonstrated technical knowledge and skills, including product and industry, reflective of successful progression through various job family levels
    • Claims handled will be of greater complexity and will require a higher level of investigation, analysis, evaluation and negotiation including interpretation of commercial coverage’s.
    • Identify possibly suspicious claims
    • Claims handled will involve moderate to high complexity, severity and exposures including litigation
    • Responsible for managing all aspects of each claim, including informal hearings and small claims litigation and maintaining a high level of productivity, confidentiality and customer service
    • Authority levels are higher in recognition of the higher proficiency associated with this level
    • Take recorded statements
    • Work with the Special Investigations Unit to resolve and negotiate settlement
    • May be required to have and maintain sufficient home-based internet connection

    • Prominent experience in California jurisdiction
    • Typically has 3 years’ experience

    • Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups

    • Understanding of applicable statutes, regulations and case law

    • Operates with latitude for un-reviewed action or decision
    • Proficient with Microsoft 365
    • Proficient using Claims systems (i.e. CSS, PMS, etc.)
    • Ability to use a personal computer and other standard office equipment
    • Ability to travel as necessary
    • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
