Workers' Compensation Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing a company's workers' compensation program. Implements all matters of the program, including claim investigations, settlements, and litigation. Being a Workers' Compensation Manager establishes standards and procedures for all matters relating to workers' compensation. Responsible for finding an insurance provider that meets organizational goals of employee coverage and cost effectiveness. Additionally, Workers' Compensation Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of unit/department. The Workers' Compensation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Workers' Compensation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Role: 
    We are seeking a Worker’s Compensation Assistant to support the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) and its efforts to meet the Department of Labor (DOL) Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP) requirements.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provide assistance to Nurse Case Manager and Workers’ Compensation Specialist to collect, assemble and manage documents and forms.
    • Will Report to Safety Manger and works jointly with the HRS assigned to the Workers’ Compensation office.
    • Support the accurate recording and completion of various Workers’ Compensation Program documents and processes such as Logging of Continuation of Pay (C.O.P.) reports, balance quarterly reports, the filing of timely Worker's Compensation claims, and Report to Safety restrictions on all injured workers.
    • Will support the weekly Workers Compensation Program training for new hires.
    • Maintain case file diaries on individual claims.
    • Confidentially work with the health unit as well as all managers and supervisors.
    • Be able to converse with the Department of Labor on individual claims.
    • Must be people-friendly and bring an openness to learn new tasks and duties as required.
    • Assist the Health & Safety Branch as necessary as well as administrative functions in the BEP Fitness Center Health Unit
    Required Experience:
    • Experience supporting Workers’ Compensation Program documents and processes.
    • Trained or certified in the DOL Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP) is a plus.
    • Be a United States-born or naturalized United States Citizen
    • Prior work in the insurance field is a plus. 
    Education
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Associate degree is a plus.
