The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for a Shipping & Receiving/Property Technician position in the grant-administered Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program to work at the National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL) operated by the Environmental Protection Agency based in Ann Arbor Michigan.
Role and Responsibilities:
This position will support the Safety, Quality, and Facilities Management (SQFM) Center, Shipping and Receiving (S & R) staff at the NVFEL to ensure supplies, materials, and equipment are available to support the Laboratory’s daily operations; ensure shipments are received and delivered in a timely and secure manner; and records are provided to complete payment and property tasks. Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Must be a United States Citizen and able to pass a Federal Background check; Age 55 ; High School graduate with knowledge and at least five years of experience in material handling, logistics, storage, and distribution of materials is essential. Must have eyesight correctable to 20/20; good manual dexterity; be in good physical condition and be able to handle intensive physical work. Working knowledge of purchasing is desirable. Knowledge of the operations of an automotive testing laboratory is valuable. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Have proficient computer skills.
Hours & Compensation:
Full-time position working up to 40 hours per week @ $33,696 per year (16.20 per hour), plus benefits including employer-paid health insurance and generous vacation/sick/holiday leave.
