Utilizes hiring, sourcing, attrition, and productivity metrics to provide actionable insights about the current and future states of a workforce. Being a Workforce Analyst applies predictive models and methods to develop short and long-term forecasts. Produces reports and visualizations that provide easy to understand information required for decision making. Additionally, Workforce Analyst typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Workforce Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     JOB TITLE:   

    Research Professional I - Workforce Specialist

    JOB PURPOSE:   

    Work under the guidance of SER Research Professional II or III, Program Manager, Center Director, Senior Director of Research on applied energy research to drive energy-related economic development for Wyoming. This research professional will work within the School of Energy Resources’ Center for Economic Geology Research (CEGR), under the guidance of the Directors of CEGR, and in collaboration with the team of other research professionals in CEGR and the other Centers of Excellence at SER. The position will focus on stakeholder engagement, public outreach, workforce development, energy research, and other tasks under the auspices of several DOE funded grants. Duties will include the coordination, planning, and management of workforce development research and programs, community engagement events, and other related energy-focused social science research.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Undertake workforce and community research based on energy-related subject matter expertise and using social science methodologies.
    • Conduct energy-related research tasks as requested by supervisor.
    • Present verbally, prepare reports and other materials as needed to communicate the results.
    • Actively participate in team meetings 
    • Regular, predictable attendance is required to perform the essential duties of this position.
    • Design, coordinate, and implement workforce development and community engagement activities, programs, and events.
    • Collection, analysis, and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative social science data.
    • Complete research tasks as requested by supervisor.
    • Aid in preparation of scientific reports.
    • Present verbally, prepare reports and other materials as needed to communicate the results.
    • Actively participate in team meetings.
    • Regular, predictable attendance is required to perform the essential duties of this position.

    REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

    This position is eligible for remote work and/or a flexible work schedule at the discretion of their supervisor. 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

    Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Physicist, Geochemist, Economist, Data/GIS/Computer Science, Visualization, social sciences related to energy development, etc.)

    Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

    Master's degree or equivalent in social science field, environment and natural resources field, public policy, or other relevant field. ABD acceptable.

    Several years of professional experience in a relevant field.
