  • McHenry County, IL (pop.310,000) is seeking a dynamic individual to provide leadership to the McHenry County Workforce Network team and administer a variety of programs and one-stop services for employers and job seekers needing assistance in meeting the challenges of today's job. Funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA), the McHenry County Workforce Network Director will provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure compliance with the federal and state requirements and implement services in adherence with the training needs directed by federal, state, regional and local workforce plans.

    In addition to managing the affairs of the department, the Workforce Network Director works closely with and under the guidance of the McHenry County Network Board, a cross-section of business, labor, education and economic development representatives responsible for developing policy and overseeing local workforce development initiatives in partnership with our local officials.

    Job Responsibilities: The director will lead and provide oversight to program services not limited to but including WIOA (Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act) (Youth, Adult, Dislocated Worker, Trade, and Business Services) services, skill training, career coaching, adult education, case management services, work-based learning, services to employers, and volunteer services. The director will develop program budgets, lead program staff, write and administer grants, and engage and collaborate with community partners and employers while providing program oversight. Administrative duties are broad and expectations are high in this position. The Workforce Network Director is key contributor to the McHenry County Strategic Plan and is an active participant with the County’s economic development program.

    Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, Human Resources, Counseling or related field; and

    Seven or more years of business administration with program and project management or progressively responsible experience with supervision. Valid Driver’s License.

    Knowledge of: Employment and training programs as mandated by federal and state policies including the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA).

    Principles and practices of public funding and finance.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: From $85,308.00 per year
