Being a Workforce Analyst applies predictive models and methods to develop short and long-term forecasts. Produces reports and visualizations that provide easy to understand information required for decision making. Additionally, Workforce Analyst typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent.     POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    CAREER COACH

    Reporting To: Workforce Development Manager Status: FT/Non-exempt

    This role supports job seeker clients in Sarasota/Manatee with career readiness solutions such as scholarships for training, career planning including resume and job search assistance, networking and workshop events, public assistance, referrals to community resources and much more! Serve all types of clients to help them achieve their personal and financial career goals. Develop, motivate, and enhance working relationships in the local area to provide excellent client service. Empathizing, interacting, communicating with and responding to client needs and requests are essential for this position.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    Primary Duties

    • Collaborate with job seekers on the following programs:
    • WIOA- Scholarships for attending school (training) such as LPN/Nursing, Information Technology, Manufacturing, CDL and much more.
    • Special Grant Projects- Opioid Grant, National Emergency Grant etc. 
    • WIOA Youth- Scholarships for young adults for school, Paid Work experience.
    • RESEA- Reemployment Assistance
    • Welfare Transition and SNAP
    • TAA- Trade Adjustment Act
    • Wagner Peyser- Assisting clients with career readiness such as resume development, interview preparation, job search etc. 
    • Support clients in making informed decisions about their career development
    • Confer with Senior Career Coaches, Talent Consultant, and Managers to develop innovative methods for assisting clients with reaching their career goals
    • Attend regular coaching team huddles to prepare for daily events and activities
    • Regularly monitor, review, and discuss performance reports with colleagues and Senior Career Coaches

    Frontline Client Service:

    • Assess client needs at front desk, then provide direct instruction and information, appropriate points of contact, and additional resources in person and via telephone. Requires basic knowledge of all CareerSource Suncoast programs and related community service providers.
    • Assist clients in accessing and navigating job search websites, online tutorials and assessments, training and social service websites, and email providers.
    • Critique, proofread, edit, and format client resumes.
    • Assist clients in completion of Florida Skills Assessment- comprehensive online career assessment and interpretation & application of results
    • Refer clients to Suncoast Career Network meetings
    • Refer clients to Tobacco Free Florida cessation assistance program resources
    • Document provided services and case notes in in appropriate CRM system(s)
    • Ensure priority of service to all identified US military veterans; conduct initial assessments for veterans with specific significant barriers to employment.

     Other Duties

    • Coordinate services including development, implementation, and tracking clients' Career Plans, ITA's (Individualized Training Accounts), budgets, assessments, and progress  
    • Develop client budgets and track expenditures/expenses
    • Assist clients with developing a financial plan and budget matrix
    • Assist clients with pursuing financial aid programs, PELL grants, student loans, scholarships, and CareerSource Suncoast tuition assistance as required
    • Follow up with clients to review with them their employment/training plan progress
    • May facilitate various workshops and orientations to educate customers on available programs and services
    • Perform other related job duties as requested

    Requirements

    Education and Experience – Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in Business, Human Services, Education or related field plus 2 years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Of the 2 years related experience, a minimum of 1 year of career development experience is preferred.

    • Minimum Digital Literacy – Average
    • Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
    • Must be competent with quick use of MS Word formatting features to include fonts, margins, bulleting, and troubleshooting of same.
    • Must be able to maintain and update Outlook calendar on a daily basis, share calendar, and search others’
    • Basic competency in social media (i.e. LinkedIn) including profile creation and regular monitoring. Support resources are available. 
    • Ability to write professional emails to a variety of audiences
