Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Being a Wound Care Services Director monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Responsible for the education of clinical staff. Additionally, Wound Care Services Director requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires license to practice medicine. The Wound Care Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Wound Care Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Current RN license in the State of Alaska
· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or enrolled in a program within 12 months
· American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
· A minimum of one year of CSIC, three years of direct nursing experience in ICU to include at least two years of open-heart recovery experience
· Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
· Strong clinical skills in the performance of ICU level nursing care
· Strong leadership skills and organizational skills
