Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Being a Wound Care Services Director monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Responsible for the education of clinical staff. Additionally, Wound Care Services Director requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires license to practice medicine. The Wound Care Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. The Director of Pulmonary Services is responsible for the operations of the Respiratory Therapy, EEG, Departments, and the Sleep Lab. Responsibilities include coordinating and directing the quality of care, patient, family, physician and employee satisfaction, financial growth, and fiscal responsibility of the above departments. The director collaborates with the hospital administration to implement new service lines, expansion, growth, and policies and procedures. They also oversee the department’s continuing education programs and maintain appropriate levels of staff, equipment, and supplies. They participate on hospital and medical committees and promote collaborative relationships between the medical staff, nursing services, ancillary departments, and hospital administration. Also responsible for any regulatory and accreditation surveys and inspections to include responsibility the College of American Pathologists (CAP) regulatory compliance to monitor and report proficiency testing, Quality Control (QC) parameters and ensure competency testing of staff. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.
