Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Being a Wound Care Services Director monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Responsible for the education of clinical staff. Additionally, Wound Care Services Director requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires license to practice medicine. The Wound Care Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Wound Care Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     • JOB SUMMARY
      • The Nurse-Advanced Wound Care is responsible for the patient care in the Wound Care Center. This includes, but is not limited to, utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care through the use of hospital and nursing standards.
    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • Education: See Licensure/Certification/Registration requirements.
      • Experience: One (1) year of patient care experience.
      • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.
    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
      • Education: N/A
      • Experience: Medical surgical, home health, or wound care experience.
      • Licensure/Certification/Registration: CWOCN (Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse) or CC (Wound Continence Certification).
    • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      • Knowledge of current techniques of wound management. Knowledge of available community and Hospital resources. Proficient in technical skills needed to deliver care to patients with wounds; or proficient in physical assessment and enterostmal therapy related invasive procedures; utilizes knowledge of wounds to write and or evaluate patient teaching materials. Ability to utilize the nursing process; to apply principles of adult education; to develop good working relationships with co-workers and patients; and ability to work quickly and efficiently.

      • READING - Advanced: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
      • WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
      • SPEAKING - Advanced: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, top management, public groups, clients, customers, and the general public.
      • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Advanced: Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
      • REASONING ABILITY - Advanced Skills: Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
