Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. - Provide wound care and treatment to patients in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and primary care clinics.
- Assess and evaluate patients' wounds, including those with complex or chronic conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans based on patients' needs and medical history.
- Administer medications and perform procedures such as dressing changes, debridement, and wound irrigation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and self-care at home.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
```Qualifications:```
- Valid nursing license and certification as a Wound Care Nurse.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities, neonatal ventilator support, spinal tap procedures, pediatrics, and catheter care.
- Strong knowledge of wound care principles, techniques, and evidence-based practices.
- Proficient in assessing wounds for infection, necrosis, or other complications.
- Familiarity with various wound care products and their appropriate use.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple patient cases simultaneously.
