Wound Care Services Director jobs in Long Beach, CA
Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Being a Wound Care Services Director monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Responsible for the education of clinical staff. Additionally, Wound Care Services Director requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires license to practice medicine. The Wound Care Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Wound Care Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Treatment Nurse/Wound Care Nurse Position Summary:The Licensed Nurse provides wound care to designated residents under the supervision of the program manager. In addition, this nurse performs a variety of direct resident care as assigned by the Sub-Acute Program Manager.
Education/Certification:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty with a strong degree of professionalism. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Minimum of H.S. degree or equivalent
- Long-Term care experience preferably in a sub-acute setting
- Must be currently licensed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse by the State of California (pay depends on license and experience)
- Prefer at least (6) six months' experience in managing complex wound care.
- Prefer IV certification
- Must be certified in CPR.
- Must maintain current licensure in good standing during employment with this facility in accordance with the State Board.
