Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Job Summary:
As part of joining the team, providers will receive hands-on training regarding Wound Care Plus benchmarks and proprietary programs while learning from leading clinicians and researchers. Candidates must be licensed Nurse Practitioners in the state of Louisiana. New hires will precept by a highly trained wound specialist Advanced wound specialist. Wound Care Plus has set protocols authored from best practice standards that must be followed. The candidate will be trained on differential diagnostics and certifications may be obtained at the employer’s expense if an employer requires.
Responsibilities:
- Prior wound care experience is a plus but not required as Wound Care Plus is unique to the industry
- Strong bedside manner and demonstrated ability to work well and collaborate with patients and other clinicians and bedside nurses
- Leadership abilities to manage care for multiple facilities and work well with nursing and administrative staff
- Exceptional skills with electronic and digital equipment (iPad, email, texting, apps used for communication and HIPAA security)
- The Nurse Practitioner provides primary patient care for specifically assigned patients including assessments, care planning, evaluations, and education
- Provide compassionate care to diverse patients and their families
- Communicates effectively with the entire care team including the patient’s community primary care provider and health plan care/ service coordinator
