This position assists the service manager in day-to-day operations of the service department. Attention to detail is essential in this role, and successful candidates should have a track record of following instructions carefully. The service writer is responsible for filling out necessary paperwork, interacting with customers and taking notes during meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Enter information about customer service issues into the computer system.
- Communicate with customers and technicians to solve customer service issues.
- Estimate the time that a vehicle will be out of service and communicate this information to the customer and technician.
- Assess the value of a damaged vehicle and communicate that information to the customer and technician.
- Answer customers' questions about vehicle maintenance, performance, or operation.
