ROLE:
- The Process Engineer's role will drive continuous improvement and provide technical guidance to leadership. Successful individuals will be able to operate the plant assets and recommend line settings to achieve targets for: output, material usage, energy consumption, and meeting product specifications.
- To achieve these goals, the Process Engineer will methodically use data collection, auditing, and preventive maintenance to provide timely identification of deviations and corrective measures.
- RCCA analysis should be applied, appropriate trials and DOEs planned, executed, and interpreted.
- The Process Engineer will evaluate asset performance, design systems and associated training to drive out process variability and recommend capital improvements.
- Ongoing development of process understanding, and future technology will also be a fundamental responsibility of the position.
- Monitoring and improving the quality of our products and the reliability of our equipment and processes will be a focus area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain safety, product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties
- Data analysis of process using SPC to control and establish input parameters
- Plan and direct systems and processes to ensure products produced meet or exceed established specifications:
quality manufacturing specifications
raw material test methods
WIP product test methods (glass, binder)
certificate of analysis deviation requests - Drive the continuous improvement of product quality, which will include a firm understanding of customer, manufacturing process capability, and development of semi-finish and finish product specifications
- Support and promote safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements
- Create a compelling manufacturing operations vision that aligns with the plant corporate goals and core values
- Foster regular two-way conversations in a flat organizational structure to maximize employee engagement and ensure appropriate focus
- Help ensure environmental and safety compliance for the facility
- Diagnose and solve complex problems
- Participates actively in all daily management standing meetings and other staff level meetings
- Complete all duties as assigned with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship
- Work and partner with Plant Leadership team to achieve business goals
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 3 years manufacturing/project engineering experience (Chemical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, experience in glass or foundry operations are often strong fits)
- Thorough knowledge/understanding of Mechanical Systems
- Knowledge of environmental and safety Local/State/Federal rules/regulations
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proven problem-solving abilities
- Proven analytical and quality improvement ability
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to interface with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
- Ability to understand business principles
- Lean and Six Sigma experience strongly preferred
PREFERRED:
- Experience with Minitab or other SPC software
- Experience with AutoCAD or Visio software
- Experience with ISO or other highly structured business operating system models
- SAP or other ERP system experience a plus
- High intellectual capacity and tenacity
- Proven ability to plan, organize and execute projects
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job is in an industrial, manufacturing environment. Employee will have a workspace in the general office (engineering section) but will spend on average 50% of their day in the plant. The job requires working frequently around and with heavy machinery with moving mechanical parts, and mobile equipment. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment which includes safety toed shoes, ear protection, eye protection and in certain areas may be required to where dust masks, gloves, respirators, or head protection.

We are looking for an engineer for our Hot End process - This candidate will be out of the fiberglass, ceramics, glass, foundries, steel industry
- Or any industry that is melting raw materials as the start of the process.
- We would consider Metallurgical/metallurgist engineers
- This is more about chemical process to covert raw materials to a fiber
