SUMMARY:
The Access Control Representative controls the access of people and objects on the premises in accordance with all DHL security policies and government regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Control access into the DC at assigned entry point by inspecting badge/prox card STA and DHL template compliance, sign in non-STA individual and coordinate escort into the DC, review and post weekly access control report(s), prevent “piggy-backing” through doors and conduct bag checks as needed.
Primary badge/proxy card system operator; create, activate/deactivate badges.
Utilize cameras to monitor all access doors for unauthorized entry/exit and inappropriate or illegal activity.
Report safety or security deficiencies, including policy violations and criminal behavior
Write clear, concise and thorough Incident reports.
Conduct assigned audits as scheduled
Assist with evacuations, emergency conditions, weather radio information and other critical situations. Essential duties are not necessarily exhaustive and may be supplemented by additional access control responsibilities by DHL at its sole discretion
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School or equivalent training and/or least 6 months related experience preferred
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
Ability to read, write and speak English
Understand and prepare reports
Understand and carry out oral instructions and written instructions
Understand standardized math processes
Works with minimum supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lift and examine backpacks weighing up to 20 pounds
Observe and recognize visitors, visitor badges and vests
This is a warehouse environment where frequently this position will be exposed to cold, hot and changing temperatures; will constantly experience noise at medium level not damaging or loud enough to require protective equipment; will frequently be exposed to dust, dirt and changes in lighting
