eCommerce Manager manages the development, deployment, and maintenance of e-commerce websites. Oversees e-commerce site developers to ensure that e-commerce sites are built and expanded based on evolving technology and business needs. Being an eCommerce Manager creates and implements processes and procedures for integrating e-commerce sites with backend systems, including pricing, inventory, and customer relationship databases. Requires knowledge of common web development languages (e.g., HTML, Java, PHP, JSP, ASP.NET, Python, AJAX.) Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, eCommerce Manager typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The eCommerce Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an eCommerce Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     OVERVIEW

    The Director of Ecommerce Merchandising, reporting directly to the President, plays a pivotal role in driving the ecommerce sales and merchandising strategies for Mercana across a large portfolio of partner online platforms. This position requires a dynamic leader who can oversee multiple aspects of online merchandising, including team leadership, sales management, partner relationships, and operational excellence.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Leadership:

             Develop & execute sales and merchandising strategies to drive sales online to support the company’s overall goals and objectives.

             Works with executive leadership to craft a strategic vision for the division and communicates the vision and priorities to the team(s)

             Sets the agenda for ecommerce account managers within the context of the overall corporate strategy and online merchandising priorities. 

             Leads, manages, and holds accountable the account management team.

             Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members

             Collaborates and works cross-functionally with executive leadership and other department leaders on initiatives that contribute to the overall company strategy, goals and objectives.

             Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product Development, and IT, to align online merchandising strategies with overall business goals.

             Represent Mercana at trade shows, industry events and conferences to build brand awareness and forge new partnerships.

    Sales Management:

             Lead sales planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes to achieve revenue targets and other KPIs.

             Identify opportunities for growth and expansion in existing accounts and expand portfolio by opening new accounts.

             Develop and implement sales strategies to drive online revenue growth and achieve sales targets.

             Leads the demand planners to develop accurate sales forecasts that can be used to build purchase plans that ensure high levels of in-stock.

             Work closely with the sales team to develop and execute effective sales campaigns, promotions, and initiatives.

    Partner Management:

             Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with online retail partners, marketplaces, and digital platforms.

             Collaborate with partners to optimize product assortments, pricing strategies, and promotional opportunities.

             Negotiate contracts and agreements with partners to maximize revenue and profitability for Mercana.

    Operations:

             Works cross-functionally with Customer Experience and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient and effective operations across all aspects of online merchandising, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and customer service.

             Identify process improvements and implement best practices to streamline operations and enhance the customer experience.

             Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement and meet business objectives.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

             Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

             7-10 years proven experience in online merchandising. 3 – 5 years in leadership roles, preferably in the retail or wholesale and/or furniture industry.

             Strong track record of driving sales growth and achieving business objectives.

             Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

             Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective merchandising strategies.

             Proficiency in e-commerce platforms, digital marketing tools, and analytics software.
