eCommerce Manager manages the development, deployment, and maintenance of e-commerce websites. Oversees e-commerce site developers to ensure that e-commerce sites are built and expanded based on evolving technology and business needs. Being an eCommerce Manager creates and implements processes and procedures for integrating e-commerce sites with backend systems, including pricing, inventory, and customer relationship databases. Requires knowledge of common web development languages (e.g., HTML, Java, PHP, JSP, ASP.NET, Python, AJAX.) Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, eCommerce Manager typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The eCommerce Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. To be an eCommerce Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     JOB PURPOSE: 

    The Manager, E-commerce will own our e-commerce sales channel and drive the initiative to significantly increase orders run through our US, B2B Webstore. High level goals of the Webstore are to improve customer experience [ease of doing business with us] and operationalize digital transactions for ‘no touch’ orders 

    The Manager, E-commerce will work with global e-commerce counterparts to localize the Webstore solution in partnership with our local management team, E-commerce Consultant and IT team. The Manager, E-commerce, will have overall responsibility for our short- and long-term e-commerce strategy for the US market and report into the VP, Sales.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

    • Design and implementation of e-commerce strategy and processes 
    • Customer experience and interaction; lead training, report usage trends, own and solve for feedback loops and technical needs translation 
    • Owns continuous development of the Webstore’s technical capabilities and internal process improvement 

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • Develop, implement and own our US e-commerce sales channel and strategy so that it aligns to our global and organizational goals, and ultimately drives online sales of solar and storage equipment. 
    • Serves as the internal e-commerce expert for our customers, BayWa team and other stakeholders; leads customer trainings, point-of-contact for e-commerce related questions and communications and represents the US Webstore to our internal global organization 
    • Lead training initiatives for our customers and internal team on all Webstore related features. 
    • Responsible for defining e-commerce KPIs and creating and executing all e-commerce reports and dashboards in order to track these KPIs. 
    • Creates and owns the customer feedback vehicle to continuously optimize their online experience and translate the customer needs into technical requirements. 
    • Drive the continuous development of the Webstore’s technical capabilities (i.e. backend, frontend, UX, interfaces), and internal e-commerce processes improvement, including but not limited to, evaluating new technologies and integrations. 
    • Partner with our Sales and Marketing team to execute sales and digital marketing campaigns that drive traffic, improve conversion rates and increase online sales.  
    • In partnership with our E-commerce Consultant, IT team and external vendors, ensure the Webstore is user friendly, visually appealing and optimized for a seamless customer experience.  
    • Coordinates with the Product team to ensure accurate and up-to-date product listings and pricing strategies in the Webstore. 
    • Conducts market research to identify industry e-commerce trends, the competitive landscape and customer preferences.  
    • All other duties as assigned. 

     

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, technologies and trends 
    • Demonstrated success in driving online sales and achieving revenue targets 
    • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills 
    • Proficient in using e-commerce platforms and technologies  
    • Experience in initiation and project management of large scale projects 
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally and with global teams; exceptional storyteller and rapport builder with external and internal stakeholders  

     

    EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 

    • 5 years experience of sales or customer facing support experience  
    • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or another related field or relevant work experience 
    • Experience with content management systems, NetSuite and ecommerce technologies  
    • Basic understanding of UX design, web analytics and the sales funnel

    • Regularly required to sit, talk, use repetitive motion, type, and hear.   
    • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.   
    • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.   
    • Lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
