eCommerce Marketing Director develops policies and plans to execute the overall vision, strategy, and capacity needed to support organizational long-term and short-term e-commerce sales growth goals. Evaluates and recommends e-commerce investments & initiatives and leads the development of business cases and marketing plans. Being an eCommerce Marketing Director identifies opportunities for innovation and expansion of customer engagement and revenue using data and analytics to study traffic, trends, customer touchpoints, and pain points. Partners with stakeholders across the organization to optimize digital channels. Additionally, eCommerce Marketing Director prioritizes and plans technical projects for improvements to customer experience, new e-commerce features and offerings. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The eCommerce Marketing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Director of eCommerce is responsible for cross-functional collaboration to manage all aspects of the ecommerce business through thought leadership, innovation, and process optimization initiatives. As an e-commerce executive, you’ll maintain all our sales touchpoints – website, online marketplace, and aggregators as well as oversee online sales, manage stock inventories, and optimize the overall customer experience. 

     

    PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and implement effective e-commerce growth strategies to identify and capture new customer base and business opportunities
    • Optimize end-to-end e-commerce journey for our customers, from lead generation to conversion and post-purchase follow-up
    • Manage and maintain e-commerce platforms, including product listings, pricing and inventory management
    • Enhance customer experience by working closely with other departments, such as marketing, content and customer service
    • Monitor customer feedback, reviews and ratings to identify areas of improvement and implement strategies for enhancing customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Focus on big-picture decisions and the overall direction of the brand’s digital presence 
    • Collaborate between the marketing department and sales directors and help identify marketing priorities
    • Monitor performance analytics, website traffic, and product performance
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential prospects, conduct outreach, and build customer relationships to drive sales
    • Analyze data and generate reports to track e-commerce performance, identify trends and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
    • Demonstrate our products with sales data to prospective clients, negotiate contracts and close sales deals with stakeholders
    • Attend conferences, events, and trade shows to showcase our product and the retail sales team

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Must be a seasoned professional in the digital foodservice/retailing market, with business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-business (B2B) experience a plus
    • Must be a self-described data expert with the ability to interpret data and draw conclusions to implement new ecommerce strategies
    • Must be a proven leader with experience both managing teams of people and executing large ecommerce projects
    • Must demonstrate strong business judgment and decision-making skills
    • Must have the ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate the highest-impact initiatives
    • Must have proven success developing, executing, and maintaining sophisticated digital commerce brand strategies by leveraging ecommerce platforms, successful delivery of business value, and near- mid- long-term growth for the GoodSource brand (s)

     

    EDUCATION/EXPIRENCE:

    • 5 years of experience in the e-commerce industry with a proven track record of driving online sales and achieving revenue targets
    • A bachelor’s degree in e-commerce, digital marketing, business administration, or a related field
    • Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce, Mailchimp, or HubSpot for customer segmentation, targeting, and personalized marketing campaigns
    • Proficiency in using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or similar to track and analyze e-commerce performance metrics
    • Familiarity with online marketing tools, including social media advertising, email marketing, SEO and SEM
    • Ability to work collaboratively and take charge as a leader when required
    • Willingness to travel (domestic and international) for company events

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Professional office environment.   Primary office environment is ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.  

     

    Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed.  May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day.   Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday.  Proper lifting techniques are required.  May include lifting up to 25 pounds on occasion.

    Travel approximately 20%

     

     COMPENSATION:

    $130,000 - $160,000 annually based on experience
