eCommerce Marketing Director develops policies and plans to execute the overall vision, strategy, and capacity needed to support organizational long-term and short-term e-commerce sales growth goals. Evaluates and recommends e-commerce investments & initiatives and leads the development of business cases and marketing plans. Being an eCommerce Marketing Director identifies opportunities for innovation and expansion of customer engagement and revenue using data and analytics to study traffic, trends, customer touchpoints, and pain points. Partners with stakeholders across the organization to optimize digital channels. Additionally, eCommerce Marketing Director prioritizes and plans technical projects for improvements to customer experience, new e-commerce features and offerings. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The eCommerce Marketing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

    This role is part of Marketing - Activation (New Categories) 

    The role is responsible for the daily management of the marketing calendar for both our potential and active subscribers. In this high-touch role, you’ll collaborate with various marketing functions to help guide the direct-to-consumer (D2C) marketing strategy and foster connected, cross-channel consumer experiences across all stages of the consumer lifecycle.

     

    As Lead Manager, digital-first thinking and experience is your default mode. You have a solid understanding of corporate and Brand objectives and expertise helping deliver consumer-centric marketing communication and tactical campaigns against these goals.

     

    In addition, as a core member of the digital and e-commerce team, you’ll help create and share learnings and best practices related to go-to-market process. You will also be in constant contact with digital marketing activation, finance partners, legal consultants, and the broader eCommerce team keeping them aware of status of all tasks. The role is forward-looking and requires a blend of analytical thinking, influencing others and, above all, executional excellence, to succeed.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

    • Execute strategic plans for growth of subscription programs to meet ecommerce KPIs. Ensure plan integration with other ecommerce campaigns.
    • Brief and partner with digital activation to execute of subscription marketing strategy, with a focus on consumer path to purchase, segmented messaging where applicable, and reproducible results.
    • Manage updates to marketing campaign calendar for subscription related marketing activities. Communicate across functions when timing and/or strategy shifts occur.
    • Provide data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to continually improve customer experience and business results. Partner for Sr. Manager Ecommerce Analytics for insights and reporting.
    • Partner with brand and finance teams to ensure digital activation campaigns align to cross-functional objectives.
    • Perform competitive analysis and best practice analysis as needed to remain current with industry trends. (most critical accountability – will be used when advertising)

    CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?

    • Do you have experience managing the daily marketing activations for a national ecommerce website?
    • Have you worked with creative and/or technical teams to develop ecommerce marketing campaigns from concept briefing through execution?
    • Do you monitor the performance of your campaigns to make data-driven insights into how you would shape your future strategy?

     

    ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • 3 years of ecommerce experience focused on marketing and/or user experience.
    • 1 years of experience managing ecommerce life cycle program.
    • Strong communication and project management skills.
    • Basic understanding of campaign execution via Adobe Experience Cloud or similar enterprise-level marketing platform
    • High capacity to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks. Experience using workflow and/or defect tracking systems (JIRA) preferred.
    • Analytical mindset, proven ability to derive actions from data.
    • Bachelor’s Degree Required

    BENEFICIAL

    • Experience directly managing a consumable project subscription program in an ecommerce environment (E.g. Dollar Shave Club, Bark Box, BirchBox, etc.)
    • Experience managing projects using JIRA or similar enterprise-level project management tool
    • Experience working in a highly regulated industry that requires deep alignment with legal teams
