eCommerce Strategy Director implements the policies and plans to execute the overall vision, strategy, and capacity needed to support organizational long-term and short-term e-commerce sales growth goals. Provides support for evaluating e-commerce investments & initiatives and facilitates the development of business cases and marketing plans. Being an eCommerce Strategy Director compiles data and analytics to study traffic, trends, customer touchpoints, and pain points used to analyze opportunities for innovation and expansion of customer engagement and revenue. Partners with stakeholders across the organization to optimize digital channels. Additionally, eCommerce Strategy Director plans and implements technical projects for improvements to customer experience, new e-commerce features and offerings. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The eCommerce Strategy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an eCommerce Strategy Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     JOB SUMMARY

    The Director of Equity Strategy is a new position at the Michigan College Access Network. We are excited to expand the leadership team to include an additional voice of accountability for MCAN’s internal and external equity strategy. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Equity Strategy will support various initiatives and projects related to MCAN’s four priorities: Fostering a college-going culture, Identifying multiple post-secondary education pathways and facilitating smooth transitions, Improving college affordability, and Supporting credential completion.

    The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically capable, detail-oriented, and has the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Having a tolerance for ambiguity and an adventuresome outlook will help ensure success within MCAN’s work and culture. A strong commitment and understanding of the role of college access in addressing racism and equity is essential. The chosen candidate will not bear the weight of these ideas themselves but will help the entire organization acknowledge our role in perpetuating privilege and racism and actively work to reduce it. We are not looking for a token person to be our diversity; we are looking for a leader to help both internal and external teammates be the champions of equity and justice for the advancement of humanity and service to our goal of reaching sixty percent college attainment by 2030.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Director of Equity Strategy performs a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following:

    • Lead MCAN staff members in completing ongoing equity audits of all programs, including sharing recommendations for improvement and amplification
    • Partner with staff as they design and launch new programming to ensure equity is at the heart of all activities
    • Be a collaborative trailblazer in building an anti-racist internal culture for the organization
    • Serve as the lead for the staff and leadership equity task force teams to ensure progression and that equity is centered to inform the direction of the internal and external equity strategies; additionally serve as the primary staffing support for the Board of Directors’ equity task force team
    • Collaborate with Local College Access Networks and other partner organizations to assist in their work  to close equity gaps
    • Seek opportunities to appropriately challenge communities and leaders to disaggregate data; explicitly name their equity commitment; and prioritize students of color, first-generation college-going students, and low-income students
    • Ensure MCAN’s Board of Directors, staff and AmeriCorps members are well-versed in equity theory, strategies, and practices, are able to implement within MCAN, their roles more broadly, and across the state
    • Speak publicly about MCAN’s equity strategy with a focus on our priority populations and assist other MCAN staff in their ability to do the same
    • With the Executive Director as your partner, hold internal and external constituencies accountable for taking action to close equity gaps. Challenge us to be better
    • Employ Targeted Universalism to move the needle on MCAN’s college access dashboard metrics
    • Develop curriculum, training, and technical assistance around equity including embedding equity into our Collective Impact approach
    • Create and advance a portfolio of work that you will be responsible for and manage
    • Gather and analyze pertinent data to use in decision-making and presentations
    • Perform other duties as needed to advance the mission of the Michigan College Access Network

     

    EDUCATION, JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    The ideal candidate should possess:

    • A passion for, and experience in, creating inclusive and equitable environments; and comfort in challenging the status quo to ensure equity is centered
    • The ability to self-prioritize work, multi-task, work independently with minimal supervision, and accurately perform duties in a fast-paced environment
    • The ability to solve problems, pay attention to detail, work efficiently, and adhere to established deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
    • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and Gmail, as well as knowledge of basic office and communication equipment and software
    • Strong written and oral communication skills 

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; master’s degree preferred
    • Have a valid in-state driver’s license for local travel

    Priority will be given to candidates with:

    • A Master’s degree in a relevant field.
    • 8-10 years of related experience
