The Department of Extension and Outreach at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of eCommerce Marketing Strategist, which will be classified as a Marketing Specialist II, for the Extension Store to manage all internal communications, social media, and product details. In addition, this position would also assist in the strategic planning of marketing Extension and Outreach tangible and digital educational products to the general public.
The eCommerce Marketing Strategist will lead the development of all art files used in creative digital applications, which may or may not include email marketing, social media marketing, presentations, newsletters, promotions, and landing pages. They may also lead the development and execution of all paid digital advertisement strategies with guidance from their supervisor. The position will author written content independently for various audiences, both internal and external, for marketing and journalistic purposes, as well as manage, author, and disseminate an internal monthly newsletter to all staff.
Together with the Digital Properties Manager, this position will regularly collaborate with Advancement marketing and communications staff and as needed, program area product managers and specialists, on vertical marketing opportunities. They will regularly work with Advancement marketing and communications staff to ensure Extension Store brand positioning materials align with ISU Extension and Outreach organizational marketing plans and brand direction.
They will also assist in the development and day-to-day management of user journeys for vertical markets within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Creation and management of promotional landing pages and other unique eCommerce website page types may be required. The ability to research and analyze product data to determine promotional opportunities, with the assistance of their supervisor, and execute website modifications as needed will be necessary.
Product creation, management, and removal from the system will be a regular portion of weekly duties. This may include the need for regularly communicating with product managers about incoming shipments, pricing, demand, and more. Building and archiving of product web pages in a product management system will be ongoing.
The successful candidate will perform the above duties; provide timely and excellent customer service to all internal and external customers; and operate in an ethical manner in accordance with State, Federal, and organization policies and operations.
