Academic Advising Director directs the academic advising department, its processes, and its advisors. Works closely with academic advisors to ensure that a proactive and high-quality approach is taken with all students advising needs. Being an Academic Advising Director assists Dean or Associate Dean in the preparation and implementation of department wide goals, procedures, and controls. Analyzes existing goals and programs and recommends improvements. Additionally, Academic Advising Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the associate dean. The Academic Advising Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Academic Advising Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Director of Enrollment Management, Advising and Retention to support the mission of the University in our Nursing Student Services department.

    A bachelor’s degree, two years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A master’s degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

    What You Will Do

    • Responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and revision to the LHSON strategic plan for enrollment management. This includes the identification of new pathways (i.e. articulation agreements) for partnerships and pathways for recruitment and enrollment.
    • Oversees those directly responsible for the routine management of those new and existing relationships with external partners. Supervises staff responsible for admissions, recruitment, enrollment, and advising. Identifies and implements strategies for effective, efficient processes in the operations of those areas.  Works with internal and external departmental staff in creating, implementing, and maintaining strategies for a healthy work environment.
    • Collaborates with internal and external key stakeholders in the operationalization of enrollment management strategies and initiatives. Represents LHSON at campus-wide meetings related to admission, recruitment, enrollment, advising, and retention as appropriate.
    • Research, analyze and report on data related to LHSON enrollment, retention, migration, 
      and graduation trends. Serves as the liaison with IRT, the LHSON Business Officer, Associate Deans, Track Coordinators, and Academic Program Specialists to ensure accurate data collection and reporting as required for accreditation and strategic planning purposes.
    • Collaborates with the Director of Student Support Services in the implementation of the LHSON strategic retention and graduation rate plan for LHSON. Works with the Director of Student Support Services to develop and implement strategies to aid students in the academic, social, and relocation transition from Waco to Dallas.
    • Other duties may include teaching 1101 New Student Experience, working on project-based initiatives.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
    • Ability to comply with University policies
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
