Academic Support Coordinator assesses students' academic needs and proficiency, assists them in setting goals, connects them to appropriate resources, and provides ongoing support as needed. Coordinates with faculty advisors and staff to provide and support innovative programs that help students succeed. Being an Academic Support Coordinator coordinates tutoring for any students needing remedial instruction or English as a Second Language assistance. Requires a bachelor's degree. The Opportunity:
The Academic Support Coordinator II will play a pivotal role in Student Support Services, ensuring students have the resources and support they need to excel academically. This role will report to the Program Manager I, and will develop and implement comprehensive support initiatives, while actively engaging with current and prospective students to cultivate a thriving program community.
This position is ideal for a highly motivated and organized individual with a passion for education and student development.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the recruitment, orientation/interviews, and intake of the required number of students approved by the Department of Education in order to meet the program goals and objectives.
Provides required and selected permissible services for the targeted population in the areas of academic, advice and career, personal advising, and coaching.
Builds solid and trusting advising relationships with 144 new and continuing scholars.
Tracks SSS students' academic advising and participation requirements; assist participants with course selection to meet graduation requirements and develops/monitors Individual Academic Plans (IAPs).
Maintains appropriate and accurate student records; maintains contacts in Blumen database.
Facilitates the delivery of required program services.
Tracks and documents student participation in project services.
Analyzes data, generates and disseminates periodic reports (monthly and semester).
Participates in program assessment: Institutional Effectiveness Plan (IE), Annual Report, and Competitive Preference Priorities (CPPs).
Supervises and evaluate the Academic Coach(es).
Oversee and participate in occasional overnight and off campus trips with participants.
Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or Executive Director, TRIO Programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2 years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Previous student-facing academic support experience.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
Strong commitment to student success and development.
Comfort with building relationships with potential sponsors.
