SUMMARY AND PURPOSE – The responsibilities of the Accountant – GL Reporting is to ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions into the general ledger, completing a variety of monthly closing procedures, performing financial account analysis, and the reconciliation of financial statement accounts. Supports the monthly and quarterly reporting process for several companies and plants.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Completes monthly corporate activities and reconciles various accounting accruals analysis.
- Prepares a variety of month-end reconciliations and other supporting documentation.
- Monthly financial reporting for several entities
- Support reporting improvement projects as needed.
- Work with Tax Consultant firm on Income and Franchise Taxes
- Support quarterly income Tax Provision work.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies and procedures in accordance with JSOX requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal customers to consistently improve (Kaizen)
- Experience working in an accounting department for a large manufacturing business.
- Motivated, Self-directed, and a focused approach to work, taking ownership of assigned tasks.
- Works well within a general ledger team, supporting others and the achievement of goals and objectives (Hoshin).
- Proactively pursues process improvement in reporting and closing procedures.
- Excellent time management skills, and ability to multi-task and self-prioritize.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting concepts, monthly close process, IFRS and GAAP.
- Takes ownership of assigned projects and tasks, completes work with a great attitude and manages change well.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to interact effectively with various levels of staff and management.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, begins with the end in mind, has attention to detail and accuracy.
- Power BI, Oracle ERP, EPBCS and FCCS knowledge a plus.
- Ability to develop and maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in – Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a large manufacturing accounting setting
- CPA and or public accounting experience a plus
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Work is performed in both remote and onsite office settings on a weekly basis. The role has minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.
- The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
- Travel by automobile and plane may be required approximately 5% of the time.
