Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding operations in the accounts receivable function of an organization. Maintains and reconciles accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate and timely receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Receivable Supervisor monitors collection period and sends follow-up inquiries regarding payments for the organization. Negotiates with past-due accounts to resolve all payment issues in a timely manner. Additionally, Accounts Receivable Supervisor implements standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and controls. Generates reports to bring insight into collections, account ages, and other relevant metrics and relays conclusions to management. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Receivable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Receivable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. - Support the company in optimizing its financial transactions and systems.
- Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers through timely payments.
- Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts receivable process.
- Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
- Comply with national and local financial regulations.
- Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.
- Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
- Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.
- Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R so management can gain a better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing.
- Support other accounting and finance team members, inventory management, and cost accounting.
- Associate degree or equivalent
- Strong mathematical skills
- Experience in accounts receivable
- Advanced MS Excel
- Experience with accounting software and online platforms (Infor M3, Sage, Dynamics Navision)
