Actuarial Services Director jobs in Florence, SC

Actuarial Services Director directs the activities of an organization's actuarial function. Oversees the analysis and evaluation of potential risks to determine the financial impacts of new or existing insurance plans. Being an Actuarial Services Director develops policies, procedures, and formulas to guide statistical analysis and actuarial research and evaluate the likelihood and financial impact of various risks. Designs processes and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance of products and financial operations. Additionally, Actuarial Services Director leads the design and development of insurance products by evaluating and approving insurance rates, premium levels, and rating systems and structures. Oversees the preparation of actuarial reports, financial statements, and regulatory filings and develops financial budgets, forecasts, and other financial projections. Researches and selects major rating assumptions to support accurate statistical analysis and evaluates the effectiveness of existing formulas. Evaluates product performance against established profitability targets and recommends modifications. Applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in life, health, social, and casualty insurance, annuities, and pensions. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA). May require Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA). Typically reports to senior management. The Actuarial Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Actuarial Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Job Summary:

    We are seeking a Director of the Emergency Services Department to oversee and manage the growth, development, and personnel management of the department. The ideal candidate will ensure consistent high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department by providing resource allocation and management controls.

    Responsibilities:

    As the Director of the Emergency Services Department, you will:

    • Identify real or potential problems affecting the service and implement solutions while ensuring follow-through and communication.
    • Actively participate in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees while providing ongoing communication to represent the department.
    • Advance the patient experience agenda in the Emergency Department.
    • Coach subordinates, provide feedback, constructive critique of work, facilitate individual development plans, and document job performance.
    • Adhere to all Human Resource policies.
    • Effectively communicate departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.
    • Facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practices.
    • Effectively build strong relationships and networks to deliver upon organizational and department goals.
    • Participate in employee and patient rounding and identify and mentor potential future leaders.
    • Enforce standards of emergency department care and develop processes to measure and ensure consistent compliance.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing emergency services program which assures quality patient care consistent with the Hospital mission.
    • Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policy for patient services, environmental, and personnel safety.
    • Oversee a PI program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
    • Ensure the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards for operational excellence.
    • Follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Blood borne and Airborne Pathogens.
    • Support the recruitment process to secure staffing talent.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
    • Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
    • 3 years of experience in emergency services required.
    • 3 years of experience in a leadership role preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
    • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation required.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

    Salary and Benefits:

    • Salary Estimate: $95,180 - $152,276.
    • Bonus Incentives: 15-22.5% Potential.
    • $10,000 Sign-On Bonus.
    • Up To $10K Relocation for Qualified Candidates.
