Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Description

    Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking an Addiction Technician or Specialist to support direct clinical care to clients, through the completion of many essential duties that includes intakes and discharges, clinical documentation, counseling, case management and resource coordination, monitoring of vitals signs and withdrawal symptoms, transport of clients to and from hospitals and treatment centers, risk assessment, interface with community partners such as hospitals and law enforcement, and more.

     

    About you.

    Ideal candidate meets minimum requirements for position, possesses solid clinical skills in the areas of direct client care, substance use counseling, and documentation, is a team-player capable of working independently, and is effective performing in a busy environment.

     

    About the team.

    The Detox Center provides 24/7 care to individuals experiencing acute intoxication or withdrawal from drugs and/or alcohol. Level of care is ASAM 3.2 (Social Model Detox). Team monitors treatment progress of clients in a 30 bed clinic.

     

    $1,000 Sign On Bonus Available! *Not eligible for PRN candidates, internal employees, and re-hired employees within 90 days from separation.

    Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week. Paid in two installments: 50% on first paycheck, 50% on paycheck following 6-month anniversary.

     

    Salary for this role. Starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.

    • High School Degree with CAT or Bachelor's Degree: $21.61 - $32.42 per hour
    • Bachelor's Degree with CAS: $23.77 - $35.65 per hour

     

    Available Shift: This position is fully on-site working 4 - 10 hour shifts, Swing Shift 1:00 pm - 11:00 pm

     

    Shift Differential Pay. The swing shift is from 3 pm to 11 pm

    • Day Weekend (Sat, Sun): $1.00/hour
    • Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $1.25/hour
    • Swing Weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun): $1.75/hour

     

    Bilingual Language Differential Pay. *rate depends on language requirements for the position and candidate's fluency.

    • Will receive scheduled earnings on a bi-weekly basis for all hours worked (excluding non-productive hours paid but not worked, e.g., paid time off, holiday, administrative, etc.) in an amount equivalent to 5% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), to a maximum amount of $3,000.00 per calendar year. *the annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full time equivalency (FTE).

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Interact with a client population that is actively intoxicated and/or experiencing symptoms of withdrawal.
    • Provide guidance, safety, stability, and direction to clients.
    • Identify emergency signals and situations and reacts appropriately.
    • Perform accurate, legal, timely and ethical documentation at all times, including admissions and discharges, inventories and screening of clients personal belongings, and charting of all significant interactions with each client.
    • Monitor and document client vital signs, physical condition and behavior as needed. Enters data using Electronic Health.
    • Record and Microsoft office product software.
    • Monitor/observe Urinalysis (UA) or Breath Alcohol (BA) tests as needed and documents appropriately.
    • Monitor the facility to insure it is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and that all outside doors remain secured.
    • Dispose of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards.
    • Refer client to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling when needed.
    • May assist in transporting admitted clients to hospitals, aftercare, or other approved services as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
    • Staff member will complete needed care coordination tasks for their assigned role.

    Qualifications


    Requirements:

    • Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
    • Preferred: Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP).
    • Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and English.
    • Preferred: Valid Colorado Driver's License with a driving record that meets organization's requirements.
    • Technician Requirements:
      • High School diploma with Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) actively registered with Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA) or Bachelors’ degree with plan to obtain CAT credential
      • Entry level position - zero to six months experience.
    • Specialist Requirements:
      • CAS (Certified Addiction Specialist) actively registered with Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA) is required.
      • Six months' work experience in behavioral health or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Required Vaccinations and TB Test.

    AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, receive an annual influenza (flu) shot, and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for either COVID 19 vaccine, annual flu shot or TB test.
