Adult Day Care Director creates and directs programs that address the health, psychosocial, and educational needs of older individuals and their caregivers and that provide clients a safe, secure, and positive daily experience. Responsible for recruiting, training, and retention of qualified staff. Being an Adult Day Care Director manages the financial operations for the center including billing, reimbursements, and budgets. Performs assessments of prospective clients to determine if programs will meet their needs. Additionally, Adult Day Care Director coordinates with caregivers, families, social services agencies, and medical professionals to plan clients program of care. Monitors programs to ensure effectiveness, quality care, compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and to identify areas for improvement or expanded program offerings. May be a RN with experience in gerontology. Requires a bachelor's degree of social science or a directly related field. Typically reports to top management. The Adult Day Care Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Adult Day Care Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. This 8-bed adult program is a residential treatment and day program with a progressive reputation of providing comprehensive clinical, vocational services and life skills for adults living with mental illness that are seeking independent living. Many of our participants get apartments and go to college with the support of our amazing staff team.
The Direct Care Day Program Staff provides organization and oversight for the day treatment program. In addition to the guidance, structure and supervision around the daily schedule, team meetings, group work, and activities.
Responsibilities: This role will include some direct service responsibilities and oversight for care of adult participants and their individualized daily programming to include: group work, communication with families and case workers, onsite and offsite activities, skill building and education, transportation, and other related duties as needed. Also documentation with group notes, facilitating morning huddles, office cleanliness, inventory oversight, transportation, attending staff meeting and other administrative and related duties as needed. This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
Applicants must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation with insurance, must have good communication skills and Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2 years’ experience and/or combination of education and experience. Must be flexible with schedule.
