Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.     Collins Aerospace is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer I for our Brazonics team within Mission Systems.

    This position provides the right candidate an exceptional opportunity to grow their manufacturing engineering career. The selected candidate will support the Thermal and Electronic Solutions team within Mission Systems and the individual will play a key role in the organization as they prepare for a facility relocation.

The Operations team continues to grow and aims to strengthen the connection of Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain and Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) across Collins Aerospace.

    This is an ONSITE position located in Hampton, NH but will be moving to Durham, NH in 2025.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Lead projects aimed at achieving SRR (Schedule, Resource, Risk) goals, enhancing producibility, productivity, and cost reduction
    • Develops project plans, schedules, and budgets for small to mid-size projects and suggests appropriate adjustments to ensure adherence to the established project plan, schedule, and budget
    • Records and documents delay, changes in scope, and any other incidents that impact the scope of work or schedule to ensure smooth project operations
    • Performs critical path analysis and prepares and implements work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects
    • Conducts meetings, consolidates, and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s)
    • Identifies and reacts to project problems and recommends solutions
    • Support production areas and deliver project work packages, ensuring adherence to technical quality standards across product, safety, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance requirements
    • Utilize problem-solving methodologies such as 8D Analysis to contribute to Root Cause Corrective Actions (RRCA) and resolve day-to-day issues
    • Manage the creation and updating of part routings, Bills of Material (BOM), standard operating procedures, and engineering change processes
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing areas, setting and upholding high standards while leading by example
    • Ability to communicate well to other members and departments to assure project plan and task are done in a timely manned
    • Performs other related duties as required.

    Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
    • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Direct experience in aerospace manufacturing
    • Direct experience with reviewing specs, BOM and router creation
    • Tracking milestones, GANTT charts, following up on action items and deliverables through completion
    • Experience with ERPs- preferably EPICOR

    The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
