    Sun 7a-11p, Mon-Wed 3p-11p (possibly rotating weekends)

    Compensation Based on Experience: $18 - $21

    Role: Daily supervision of residents, activities, and staffing patterns to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. Coordination and supervision of residents' social, educational, and behavioral activities.
    Serves as an administrative representative of the department responsible for staff selection, training, and evaluation. Provides a positive role model by demonstrating commitment, punctuality, effective time management, and good communication skills.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
    5% Ensure staff are assigned to transport to daily appointments and that appointments are not missed.
    5% Provide relevant resident information to Empowerment Counselors in staff meetings.
    5% Evaluate staff and provide consistent feedback on job performance.
    5% Provide support for staff and be available as needed during crisis situations.
    5% Monitors staff and report any major problems to the Program Manager.
    5% Monitors all medication administration and security. Ensure medication is administered per doctors' orders and that correct security procedures are followed and appropriate staff is assigned to administer.
    10% Implement and consistently train staff on behavioral model and monitor consistent application by staff.
    5% Actively participate in new employee training as needed
    5% Monitor department paper work and ensure timely completion (i.e. critical incident reports/medication/daily logs/etc.)
    5% Contact parents and pertinent professionals, i.e., social workers, police officers etc., for exchange of information, as needed in the absence of the VOCA staff.
    5% Write up all critical events per policy.
    10% Ensure that residential department is consistently maintained in a clean and neat fashion.
    10% Ensure that departments maintain staff ratio at all times.
    5% Abide by all WCH policies and procedures.
    5% Be on call for the Intake Department.
    5% Rotate time equally between residential departments.
    5% Perform other duties as requested.

    Expectations:

    5. Knowledgeable about signs and symptoms of physical/sexual abuse and neglect, as well as associated behaviors.
    6. Knowledgeable about cultural norms, values, traditions, and child-rearing practices.
    7. Knowledgeable of residents' rights.
    8. Knowledgeable of the stages, process, and milestones of normal physical, cognitive, and emotional development.
    9. Able to demonstrate functional written and oral communication skills.
    10. Keen observation of children's activities, interactions, and expressions; documentation of such.
    11. Socially appropriate parental role model.
    12. Able to demonstrate professional communications and interactions.
    13. Able to physically interact with population served.
    14. Dependability - able to report to work on time and complete scheduled shifts; able to consistently complete assigned tasks during that shift.
    15. Weekend Additional Responsibilities
    16. Responsible for decision making and resolving crisis situations by utilizing phone support from Director of Residential Programs, then exercising judgement to implement solutions.
    17. Responsible for parent contact and pertinent professionals, i.e. assist in the management of front desk staff and assign duties as required.
    18. Maintain at least 20 hours of approved in-service training per year.
    19. Have health assessment at time of employment and every three years thereafter, as required by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
    20. Comply with K.S.A. 65-516.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

    Knowledge and Skills:
    Experience: One year experience in behavior management, ability to work independently.
    Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to four years related experience in school, hospital, residential staff supervision and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in a non-threatening professional manner. Must be able to prepare all documentation in a clear, concise manner utilizing legible handwriting, correct grammar and spelling. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    Other Skills: Must have ability to take initiative to resolve problems as they occur within the department through modeling appropriate behaviors, utilizing WCH standards relative to departmental organization, staffing issues, and conflict resolution. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form. Basic computer skills required. Experience in Access, Word, and
    Excel preferred. Position may need to process admissions and releases (intake paper work).
