Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages engineering tasks involving changes or alterations to designs or specifications of aircraft parts, modules, or systems to ensure calibration and safety. Implements procedures to guide the routine inspection of aircraft components to facilitate optimal and reliable functionality. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Manager oversees the scheduling and timely completion of repairs and maintenance ensuring budget adherence. Reviews documented issues and reports to determine repairability and evaluates recommendations for replacements, repairs, or modifications to ensure conformance with safety standards and performance requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Manager evaluates aircraft data and technical documents and researches new technologies to identify areas to improve practices or processes. Develops internal policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and safety standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Aircraft Maintenance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Key Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for the supervision and coordination of all maintenance functions on shift at the assigned location ensuring these activities are performed in a safe manner in accordance with schedule requirements and in compliance with all established Company, regulatory and manufacturers procedures
    • Assigns aircraft maintenance technician and related personnel in accordance with requirements to achieve maximum productivity and cost control
    • Ensures their team has the appropriate resources available and holds them accountable for the work assigned/performed
    • Provide leadership and direction to on shift labor workforce to improve productivity and output whilst ensuring necessary resources are available
    • Build / reinforce a fair and respectful work environment through consistent application of CBA work rules and company policies
    • Complete station performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goals
    • Maintain a high level of awareness of operational, safety and human resource related performance objectives
    • Coordinate safety and security of aircraft and operations to ensure regulatory compliance of technical operations activities
    • Maintain a high level of communication with employee groups within the station
    • Report status of operations, highlighting significant events to leadership whilst providing direction to assigned station personnel to ensure station and divisional objectives are achieved

    Qualifications

    What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
    • High School Diploma, or equivalent work experience
    • FAA A&P Certificate
    • 5 years in the aircraft maintenance industry
    • Valid driver's license
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
    • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
    • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
    What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
    • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Business, or related field or comparable work experience
    • 2 years in a leadership role within a maintenance organization including a unionized labor workforce
